Hi, I can install GNS3 0.8.1 without any problems when when I try to run it or when I try to configure Edit/Preferrences, I goet the following error on the GNS3 console. The edit preference window won't pop out.

Seems to be a problem on my windows xp sp3 laptop. I tried to install on a windows7 desktop and its working ok.

Any ideas how to make this work on windows xp sp3? My windows 7 desktop only has 1GB ram so I can't run more than 4 routers unlike in my xp laptop.

I had a similar message on XP SP3 and wanted to post the solution in case anyone else runs into it. In my case the problem was having an old version of libeay32.dll in C:\WINDOWS. I'm not sure what package I installed that put the file there, but after renaming it, Python loaded the correct DLL from C:\Python26\Lib\site-packages\PyQt4\bin.

Obviously this isn't a problem with GNS3, but maybe the workaround will help someone else.
