Hello,

I need some help here, I have set up my CCIE Lab using breakout switch,
so my lab uses 11 virtual routers in GNS3 and 4 physical switches + one Breakout switch.

I have also set up a "terminal" router and added all the virtual routers so I get an easy remote access.
First I telnet the "TermSrv" router and than I just type for example R1 and the console opens...

ip host BB3 2010 10.10.10.1
ip host R1 2000 10.10.10.1
ip host R2 2001 10.10.10.1
ip host R4 2003 10.10.10.1
ip host R5 2004 10.10.10.1
ip host R6 2005 10.10.10.1
ip host R7 2006 10.10.10.1
ip host R8 2007 10.10.10.1
ip host R9 2008 10.10.10.1
ip host BB1 2002 10.10.10.1
ip host BB2 2009 10.10.10.1

now the question is, I purchased the 5 USB-to-Serial UC232A Aten and USB hub to be able to connect all the
console cables to the 5 physical switches.

So the question now is, is it possible to add the access for those switches via "terminal" router as I have it for virtual
routers now ?

than I will be able to access the physical switches for example just type SW1 etc....

any ideas ??

Thank You

You can utilize an application like ser2net, this will act as a go between for your serial port and tcp port. Here is a good blog post describing the process, http://mellowd.co.uk/ccie/?tag=ser2net.
