Trying to install on arch. I have my Windows gns3 setup working pretty good! I just need some more speed and stability (CPU\RAM issues even after optimizing).

Have the latest kernel 2.27.1.1 and the latest python seems installed. I downloaded the latest python but cant "install" it if you are supposed to? I did put it inside the gns3 folder. Downloaded dynamips and also put that under the gns3 folder. Double clicking the gns3 file does not do anything? I thought I read all the docs and seen that video, but maybe I am missing something if someone could help out :)

I do have rw access to the file as myself. I tried as root via cli but no go? If it was an access issue, would it tell me? I think all users have rw access to this folder and all files..

Dear All,

I have installed GNS3 on FC9 ,, I have installed all dependencies in following Order
Qt4,
SIP
pyQT
GNS

now the problem is segmentation fault. From GNS Documentation I found out FAQ on it which asks to disable ExecShield. I have done that as well but still facing same issue.

I can uninstall and reinstall GNS3 but I want to make sure I dont miss anythng or step. It would be great if some one can post a complete HOWTO for Fedora 9 here or in Howto Section.

Looking for response

Can anyone help with my install on Arch ??

** Edit, I have updated the kernel to 2.27.6.1, and the latest phyton, but GNS3 is still not opening. I think i might be doing something simply wrong, but not sure what... Thanks

You can now use my PKGBUILD from AUR.

I suggest you to use yaourt.

Arch works very well with 0.8.1
Just remenber to install
dynamips, qemu, virtualbox and
especially
virtualbox-sdk, or you will have a vboxapi error.

without install virtualbox-sdk the error appear
WARNING: vboxapi module cannot be loaded ! You can proceed, but VirtualBox functionality will not be locally available.
remenber that this version of gns3 only works with python2.
then run python2 gns3.pyw
