Post subject: 206-unable to create UDP NIO-Topology of Switches[RESOLVED]
PostPosted: Tue Sep 20, 2011 1:53 pm
Hello support,

i'm coming in this thread in order to submit an issue and ask for help. I'm currently using gns 0.7.4 on windows 7 ultimate with 8GB of RAM. so far, i did not experience a particular issue with GNS3 until i started introducing EtherSwitches or Lan switches in the topology. during the first integration it works like a charm. however, whenever I try to reimport the same topology somehow later low error message:

" Connecting HeadEnd1 f0/0 to R9 f1/6 resulted in 206-unable to create UDP NIO"

in my toppology, HeadEnd1 is a 3725 router and so is R9 with the ESW16 module inserted. I've also come to notice that this error drives an exception and topoly importation to stop and is always happening on connections involving switches (either Ethswitches and Lan Switches). is this a know bug ?
manually changing the ports bindings does not help solving the issue. I'm always obliged to remove the Etherswitch from the .net file and again manually rebuild the missing part of the topology from the GUI. this is very handicaping. is there is a know fix ? please kindly share. I'm attaching my .NET file config as well.

I'm using the same C3725 router and the same IOS for all my topologies

Looks like you may have already tried this by the looks of the UDP port number you're using. I was running into the same problem with switches and router int's so what I did was delete all old .net files and restarted GNS with the new UDP port setting of 10100. After this all of my topologies load without any problems.

Hope this helps

@ CCIE2B

Deleting .net file and changing UDP port worked for me. Thanks for your help...it was driving me nuts!!
