***This is solved below, if there is a policy to change my post title I can't seem to do it.

...is the message I get when I try to drop a router in a blank workspace.

Details:

-Running Linux Mint
-dynamips is configured properly - the test settings button says dynamips started and is running.
-Base port: 7200 Base UDP: 10000 Base Console 2000 Base Aux: 2500

I can load topologies (well, I only tried one and it works) from gns3vault.com and they load up ok, the routers function just fine, but if I try to drag one onto a blank topology (which is what I currently need - a straight-out-the-box router), it gives me the above message.

I tried changing it to 127.0.0.1 per some instructions on the internet, but it just changed the message from localhost to 127.0.0.1.

TIA folks, I'm doing my CCNA and I'm at the point where I need to start doing labs.

In the IOS Images and Hypervisors settings, set the images to not Bind to external hypervisors, this is how mine is set also running on Linux Mint.
