Dear All,

I hope you are doing good. I have bought a new laptop. The configurations are as follows

Dell Studio 15, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD, Vista Home Premium 32 bit operating system.

I have installed gns3 (GNS3-0.6.1-win32-all-in-one) on it successfully. Now the problem is that when i try test the dynamips , it giving an error " failed to start dynamips ".

I have googled & try to search prossible solution to this problem but none of them have worked for me.

Changes done with gns3 on vista

1) Ran the shortcut icon of gns3 on desktop in Run as Administrator
2)Added GNS3 & winxp.exe programme in firewall exception
3)Give full permission to dynamips folder in gns3

Kindly help me out on the same i need to get this up & working on my laptop

Quick trun around would be appreciated

Here are some possible reasons:
1. Check executable path and dynamips filename again.
2. Port 7200 on localhost is already in use (some other application uses it) Use netstat -an to check this

Hi Kaage,

First of all let me thank you for your reply..... I have checked the path for the executable file & dynamips, they are correct
But when i click on dynamips-wxp.exe, a screen appears & goes away...

Also when i have done netstat -a , kindly find the outputs of all below

Try to start dynamips manually this way:
Code:
c:\Program Files\GNS3\Dynamips>dynamips-wxp.exe -H 7200
Cisco Router Simulation Platform (version 0.2.8-RC2-x86)
Copyright (c) 2005-2007 Christophe Fillot.
Build date: Oct 14 2007 10:54:51

Hypervisor TCP control server started (port 7200).

Before you have started GNS3 or dynamips try netstat -an again. Let us know the output you'll get.
