Hi All,
New to the forum and linux - would like to know which debian packages to download so i can compile iouyap in the GNS3 Github.

Im aware that iouyap.tg.gz can be downloaded - but prefer to learn how to compile my own.

Grateful if anyone could help.

There are some details here: post31106.html#p31106

Eventually I plan to get iouyap packaged for Debian and it's derivatives.

Hi Dan,

Many thanks for the very fast and efficient reply.

I've read the post - but cant find a .deb package that will install "Required for runtime : libiniparser (iniparser) libpthread (glibc)".

Followed the link to http://ndevilla.free.fr/iniparser/ and there i find a link to Github - etc

Ive attached a file which shows my progress to date - i think im pretty close - and could do with a helping hand.

Okay what the follwoing line:
Code:
config.c:21:23: fatal error: iniparser.h: No such file or directory

is saying is that the compiler can't find iniparser.h.

By default the compiler looks in specific directories for them... namely /usr/include/<triplet>/ (or something like that)

You have two options here... you can pas an option to the compiler to add the path that contains the iniparser.h (where you compiled the download of iniparser) or use a debian package for iniparser I've uploaded.

The debian package is based on what will eventually make it into the Debian archive hopefully (https://bugs.debian.org/738850). You can find the iniparser packages here: https://launchpad.net/~gns3/+archive/dev. Instructions are present on that page on how to install the PPA

You will need to install the libiniparser-dev package.

This is how I did:

git clone http://github.com/ndevilla/iniparser.git
cd iniparser
make
cp libiniparser.* /usr/lib/
cp src/iniparser.h /usr/local/include
cp src/dictionary.h /usr/local/include

git clone https://github.com/GNS3/iouyap.git
cd iouyap
make
chmod +x iouyap
sudo cp iouyap /usr/local/bin/

Enjoy!
