Hello

I am working on a project on GNS3 and need to have a serial interface connected to "cloud" that interface is going to have a Public IPv4.

This is my topology

The interfaces I am using are:
Router: WIC-2T
Cloud:nio_gen_eth

My problem may be on the cloud side, but don't know how to change the interface

But here raise a question... if the problem is in the cloud side... why the local interface cannot be ping

Ethernet interfaces and Serial interfaces are not compatible.
You can not connect serial to ethernet, really.
Just google for images of Cisco serial interface, and you'll know.
Like copper and fiber, gasoline and diesel, blue or red pill :)
"There can be only one" on single physical link...

dude.... I really know that ethernet and serial are not compatible... like connecting ethernet to console... I just don't know how to change the cloud configuration so it uses serial port instead of ethernet

But how is this afecting the fact that I cannot ping the local serial interface, from the router to its own interface...

By the way... loved the reference "red blue pill" o.O

In simply way (and as far as I know): you can connect to cloud every type interface that cloud have.
As of GNS0.8.x, cloud can have plenty of interfaceces, but all of interfaces are ethernet type.
Simply said, you can connect every device that have ethernet interface. Ethernet can be tagged, untagged - nevermind, but it has to be ethernet. And, like you know, you cannot conneth Eth to Serial.

Serial differs from ethernet, also in that case. With Ethernet, you could connect router interface with IP address configured to simple unmanaged switch (to make router will 'up' interface) and you could make router to ping itself. Serial behaves differently.
Just look at the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... LsA#t=2562
Whole video is about Frame Relay, but that fragment should enlighten that topic a bit.
