I had IOU devices working on Beta 1. After installing Beta 2, when trying to add an IOU device I get the following error: Could not connect to server 192.168.56.101:8000: Could not determine the server version.

Are you talking about Virtual Box or is there a new VM that I don't know about? I'm running this on Windows 7 by the way.

Thanks

Hi,

You have to upgrade the server to beta2 inside your VM:

1 - Make sure the VM has Internet access by switching the network adapter to NAT or Bridged adapter.
2 - Start the VM and log in (username: root password: cisco).
3 - Check that your network interface has an address IP: ifconfig eth0
4 - Upgrade the server: pip3 install gns3-server==1.0beta2
5 - Stop the VM and switch back the network adapter to Host only.

Regards,

Thank you Jeremy. Upgrading the server resolved my issue. Also thanks for GNS3 in general. I would have never gotten my CCNP without it!

This just gets better and better. What took me almost 2 days to install and troubleshoot xfce4_x86 (debian), took less than 45 min's with the windows version.

Thank you for the instructions.

Does anyone have any idea how to get this working using Xubuntu 14.04 as their base operating system? I have never had any problems updating the server/GUI until now. I am getting the same error as the OP. Any help would be appreciated. I downgraded back to Beta 1 so I can keep rollin until I see someone that has a fix.
