Hey there. I'm hoping someone can help.

I followed this how to:
http://www.discorouter.com/2014/04/inst ... h-iou.html. I tried both the VMWARE and VirtualBox approaches.

1) Virtual Box
The virtual 'host only' didn't auto assign an IP address. I tried manually assigning one. This worked in so far as using ifconfig shows the ip address assigned. However I couldn't upload to the server. It didn't work in GNS3. It would simply time out.

2) VMWARE
Did auto assign an address. I allowed me to upload to it. However GNS3 didn't like the server version. So I updated using this tutorial:
topic11124.html

This seem to kill the server totally. Though it still auto-assigns an IP address. I can no longer upload to the server. GNS3 simply times out.

I'm running:
MAC Book Pro 10.9.4
VMWare 7.0
Virual Bos 4.3.16
All other files are per tutorials above.

Any help very much appreciated.

I would suggest simply running the server and gui on the same computer - once you have that all working, then start playing with the fancy remote server stuff. TBH - I haven't even started looking at splitting the server off to another box (as shown in the tutorials you mentioned) and I don't intend to until all the other features are implemented.

Just my 2c
