Hi,

Don't know what's happening but when I try to start a topology with VPCS clients, I get the following info in the GNS3 console:

Server error [-3200] from 127.0.0.1:8000: PC1: Error while looking for the VPCS version: [Errno 5] Input/outpu error
Server error [-3200] from 127.0.0.1:8000: PC2: Error while looking for the VPCS version: [Errno 5] Input/outpu error
Server error [-3200] from 127.0.0.1:8000: PC3: Error while looking for the VPCS version: [Errno 5] Input/outpu error
Server error [-3200] from 127.0.0.1:8000: PC4: Error while looking for the VPCS version: [Errno 5] Input/outpu error

Can you guide me in this error?
I'm using GNS3 ER v1.0beta3.dev1

VPCS 0.5b2 (copied this because was getting the same issue with 0.5b)

Regards,

Paulo

[Edit: just tested my theory by renaming vpcs - but this gives a different error:
Server error [-3200] from 127.0.0.1:8000: PC2: VPCS program '/usr/bin/vpcs' is not accessible

Hopefully some else can help]

Is vpcs installed in /user/bin? Or more importantly, is vpcs in your path? Ie, what output do you see when you issue the command which vpcs? (If you see no output from that command, then vpcs is not installed properly, which is my first suspicion.)

Logic
The error you see is coming from the server, because when you initialise a vpcs instance, the server issues a vpcs -v command to check (I'm guessing) that a) vpcs is installed, and b) which version is installed.

And it seems (from the error messages you show) that this test fails.

Hi rednectar,

If I run vpcs in Konsole or from Launcher, it starts properly. Like I said, when I issue "version" or "show version" inside VPCS it says VPCS 0.5b2.
I have it in /usr/bin, also had put it inside gns3 directory.

Do you have any ideas? I think that VPCS in Linux it's only needed to put the file in a location reached by path environment, and put the chmod +x to permit it as an executeble file.

Regards,

Paulo

Can't think of anything at the moment. And I'll be away from my PC for a couple of days so won't be able to check. Hopefully someone else can help

Problem solved.

Made git pull again for gns3-server and gns3-gui, and it's ok now.

Thanks.
