We all know that ROUTER
splits network. It means that your ROUTER's each side belongs to different network. SWITCH
on the other hand works differently, why? Because it GROUP hosts
as one network unlike in ROUTER where it divide GROUPS into multiple GROUPS
. So, you say that the problem only occurred when ROUTER got involved in the network.
By means of this, you need to check the following:NETWORK/SUBNET
where each side of the ROUTER belongs to. You need to check the corresponding SUBNET Mask
you used for both group.ROUTING PROTOCOL
- you must check the routing protocol it this is configured into the ROUTER. The function of the Routing Protocol is to route Packet from one network to another. You need to enable routing protocols like RIP, OSPF, EIGRP or Static Routing Protocol.
If these two configure correctly, your network design will work successfully.
I hope it would help you!
