Hi, I want to build a lab for CCNA. I can connect virtualbox pcs to routers in GNS3, but I'd like to use a real switch instead of NM-16ESW. Is it possible to connect a real switch to the GNS3 environment and connect the Virtual PC-s to the real switch?

Yes, it is. And if your eth card supports vlan tagging you can you dot1q trunk between GNS3 topology and real switch.
I have a 3550's switch with couple of cisco phones connected to GNS3 topology with 7200 router with running CallManager Express and one VMware machine with Cisco IP Communicator installed.

wow that sound interesting bro, I do like to see the topology .

And does anyone knows how i can download ios for L3 switch so i can do some switching pratice.

i want to know how to connect real switch in GNS3, i'm noob :S
i have got catalyst 3550
