 Post subject: Can't understand one thing

Hi gays...a im learning gns3 and i have one problem:

I have installed gns3 on computer 192.168.100.34
I have connected vitrtual router(wich have interface 192.168.100.134) to real net(192.168.100.0/24).
Everything works perfectly but....

i cannot ping from my router my phisical machine on which gn3 is installed....

i try
router1# ping 192.168.100.34

and he cannot ping that.... =(

also i cannot ping my router from my phisical machine (192.168.100.34)

how can i fix that?

Hi,
Whoa!! its a pretty old post with so many views but not a single reply! I dont knw if you have figuered out the problem yet, but i think you ccannot ping your machine using GNS 3, because its an emulator. The software uses ur ram and cpu but it is no where near connected to your PC physicaly.
I am not sure if i am correct, but this is what i think!

You can do this with Cloud. Are you using cloud?

I have the same problem. Brief description of my network: 1x linksys router +DHCP server / 1x physical PC Ubuntu 10.10 / 1x virtual PC VirtualBox with win2003 server / one virtual cisco router on GNS3.
I can ping from the virtual Cisco router: linksys router and win2003 , BUT I can't ping my real machine with Ubuntu. (GNS is installed on ubuntu, not on the win2003.)
