Using the gns3-iouvm there shouldn't be any need to install python etc...

Your main problem is from the the very first command you entered (in your fist post)

If you read the error message it says:

Code:
$ : command not found


This is because you've typed a $ after the promt that isn't needed. The command you should have typed in was:
Code:
pip3 install gns3-server=1.0a6
with no $ sign :P

Thanks man. Yes I figured that out. I have updated it but now I am stuck at this point. And some other gentleman has the same problem as well.
