 Post subject: Problem with early release - cannot get IOU image

Did i miss something ??

I paid 40 $ to get access to IOU image to run switching ( need for ccie ) , i have on my email confirmation but i do not have
( i do not know ) what to do to get this image ,

do i need password , or somethink , no idea , propably i miss something when i did payment , i didnt read properly

please help me

You paid $40 to get access to GNS3 ER - I believe this is in Beta now so is available to all.

Even with the new version of GNS3 there is still limited switching capabilities.

I was also thinking with the new GNS3 we would all be able to emulate switches - sadly not. You can use routers and do basic switching simulations.

IOU is another matter - this is a copyright image and you need to work for Cisco to get this.

I think sadly you may have missed something - assuming that the $40 you referred to was to access the early releases of GNS3v1.

I think the GNS3 developers made it very clear in the crowdfunding campaign that there was no way that they could release IOS or IOU images. You were paying to get access to the early release of GNS3v1 - which adds the ability to use IOU images to your topologies. And again, many times it was made clear that the "switching" function that would be available via GNS3 was through IOU.
