Hi,

Thanks soly! works perfectly with your parameters.
I couldn't boot the ROM with previous parameters, but with your new ones, it starts as expected

hello.

I got it working with default settings, but alot of times my config doesn't get saved. I get corruption files created. eg fsckxxxx.ren. and other errors when I restart ASA. I dont have these issues with GNS3 0.8.7

If any one else is having similar issues I would like to know

Hi,

Coldsnapu, I have exactly the same problem.
Impossible to save the configuration. It's been few days I'm trying all the different ways without any success. However, it works fine on the 0.8.7 I'm running on a test machine to check.
The hda is recognized, I can save files in it which are still there when rebooted. But impossible to have the disk0:/.private/startup-config properly working (if any one managed to find a solution, please tell us how to do it :) ).

To answer the second Soly's question, the "what is it in here", you should configure the path to your FLASH file you have created with qemu-img (qemu-img.exe create FLASH 256M). This will be your hda1 partition, corresponding to your disk0:/ in the ASA, allowing you to save your configuration to start up (well... it should at least, even if in my case it doesn't), your ASDM file,...
If you're running two ASA in your project, be very careful to configure manually two FLASH files.

Hi rlouarn,

Thanks for the reply, glad i am not the only one who is having problems saving configs on the ASA.

Have you tried posting this issue on the Development section, where I believe the developers follow the errors more carefully. Here is the link new-gns3-early-releases-f22.html

Also, i am not sure about the Disk image (hda) part. Are you supposed to create an image with qemu-img.exe and then point the hda to that file you created with qemu-img.exe ?

Thanks again.

hi,

Thanks, you're welcome :)

That's what I understood from different tests, but it must be confirmed from other users who are most confirmed than I am (I've only used GNS3 for a week).
From what I've seen, at first boot, it creates on hda the hda1 disk, and attaches it to the disk0:/. I've created a disk of 256 and then 300M to confirm that guess (doing a dir disk0:/ confirmed the righ sizes I created).
From what I've seen on many pages describing the configuration of an ASA, they are using a flash created file with qemu-img and assign it to the qemu hda option. That's why I've configured it that way.

However, I'm perhaps completely wrong, and the asa should be configured differently :) I let other users giving us the way they made their ASA working well, and if possible with the ability to save their configuration.

I haven't yet created a case because I'm looking for a solution with every possible solution on the internet. But if I can't make it work, I will :) (if I succeed I'll write a post on the HOW TO section).

B.R.
