hi admin

I notice something weird , i made a topology with iou devices , saved it oped it again works fine.

I made another topology , added a IOU device(IOU 1) to it and deleted it for some reason and tried opening my previously saved topology , and i noticed IOU 1 from my saved topology is also deleted.

any solution or work around for this ?

Deleting a device is permanent, regardless if you save or not your topology.

Cheers,

but deleting a IOU device in one topology should not delete IOU device from other topology.

If you delete it from the workspace, yes. It shouldn't delete it from the other topology.

But if you delete it in the preferences window, it propagates to all topologies, as it IMHO should.

Or are you saying that deleting it from the workspace also causes it to be deleted from the preferences and therefore from all topologies?

I think there is some confusion as to what you meant by:

Quote:
and deleted it

Do you mean that in your NEW topology, you (a) dragged an IOU device onto your canvas, then later right-clicked on this icon and selected [x] Delete?

or (b) Chose Preferences|<IOS devices and deleted it from there?

If you mean (a) - then it sounds serious. Can you try and reproduce it and add any other observations?

Not too sure about Jeremy, but I tried to reproduce this behaviour and couldn't. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSSwCiSa ... ata_player

Now I notice that I was using GNS3v1b4dev1 when I made the video, so I guess it is a problem that may have been fixed since b3

Sure. You'll find it in this post: Install script for GNS3v1 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Choose the "Bleeding Edge" install.
