Have spent the entire afternoon building on a CentOS 5.2 platform. So far, so good- but more work to do to iron out problems. If it doesn't kill me, I'll probably write up a quick "how-to" and find a handy spot to post.

FWIW- I'm building the CCIE voice lab configuration in the lab category. Hence, CentOS 5.2 and the use of VMWare 2 and multiple server instances.

I use both Win XP and Linux and the best by far is Linux )at the moment ubuntu from the package list (will there be an update for the linux soon).

With my 2GHz 'Tiny' laptop with XP i can get 3 routers running, 4 kills the system, using linux i can get 6 no problem and 12 likks the system, like the windows 4.

I will always use linux with GNS3.

Keep up the good work.

Hi

I use OpenSuse 11.1 with Sun Virtualbox.

I can run 2 clouds 2 virtual machines with 1x Win Server2003 (384mb) and 1x XP (512mb) and about 5 GNS devices, arround 6 GNS devices it lags, all off a core 2 duo laptop with 2G ram.

GNS in Linux works well.

I am running GNS3 on my MAC PRO 8 core tower and love it! It runs fast and I have yet to put enough routers on it to start to see it bog down. It is flying! I must say thanks to the developers. I am working on my CCNP now, and this tool is invaluable. And to think I was actually considering plunking down the $500 for the Boson sim until I found out about GNS3. This is the real deal. No frustration with a limited command set. It is all here.

I am looking forward to the new version for MAC to be released. Hopefully soon we will be able to even work on Catalyst switches...(please...)

You guys are awesome. Keep up the great work!

Mark Griffith
