My PC's configurations are as follows:
Pentium Dual-Core CPU E5200 2.50GHz
RAM 2GB
32Bit
Windows 7 Ultimate

I have installed gns3 (GNS3-0.6.1-win32-all-in-one) on it successfully. Now the problem is that when i try test the dynamips , it giving an error " Failed to start dynamips ".
I have googled & try to search prossible solution to this problem but none of them have worked for me.

Changes done with gns3 on Windows 7

1) Ran the shortcut icon of gns3 on desktop in Run as Administrator
2)Added GNS3 & winxp.exe & dynamips-wxpprogramme in firewall exception
3)Give full permission to dynamips folder in gns3

Thanks for ur suggestion. I followed ur suggestion but no success.
I found another solution to this prob. Install GNS3 in Program files(not program files x86). This will resolve the above prob. Let me know if tis solutions works.

Something to note (developers and users alike):

When you install GNS3 0.7 on Windows 7 it smartly puts the app into the Program Files (x86) folder however it doesnt then update the entries in the configuration. You need to go into preferences and manually change the install path for Dynamips in order for the service to start with GNS3.

Thanks, this worked fine for me. I uninstalled gns3 and reinstalled it pointed it to program files during the the installation and it works fine.

I think you should go to GNS3 and It has the release for window 7.

This problem can be solved by reinstalling GNS3 as well as WinPcap 4.1.2 . You must uninstall and reinstall both the software to solve this problem...

Ok, I've just installed GNS 0.7.2 on a XP 32-bit system. After installing I enter the 2 steps setup that appears when opening GNS3 for the first time after installation.

1. Configure and test path to Dynamips. Also check that the working directory is valid.
2. Add one or more uncompressed IOS images.

Enter first step, went to Dynamips tab and just press Test, without any other modification. It worked.

You don't have to create a new folder, named Dynamips. You just need to make sure the path to the folder where dynamips is installed (folder where dynamips-wxp.exe is located) is the right one.
