Hi folks,

I would like to know if there is a plan about implementing a web interface in GNS3. I think that could be fine, especially to share lab topologies and proof of concepts.

At the moment I'm thinking about vnc web connection to a specific session without window manager ... but it's a workaroud, and a web-based solution of GNS3 could be better.

Any advice will be appreciated
Thanks for your fantastic application
Regards
Andrea

I personally think it's easier to develop a web interface for just Dynamips and not the graphical GNS3. That's a little bit harder, but not impossible.

Sure it would be nice but I don't think it would be a high priority. But I'm not a GNS3 developer so I really can't say if it's possible.

Maybe there's someone out there who has some spare time to develop a web interface for GNS3 or why not the simpler method: just for Dynamips (form-based)?

Hi,

By form based, do you mean whitout any graphical view of the topology?

This is not a bad idea, for me the hard thing would be to make a view of the topology...

Yes that's exactly what I meant - no Graphical topology. It's a very nice idea if someone can work this out.

Hi all,

amuware started as a web project at first. There was same application but in form of applet running in browser. All the users topologies and labs were stored on remote central server. The amuware applet also used the resources of the server to run lab remotely, not on local computer. There was reservation system for it. However, there was a lot of subsribers, I was not able to provide these resources so I decide to convert it to stnadalone application as you know it today.

This could be implemented in GNS3 as follows:

We will take as an example INE topology. Let's suppose that I have my own 12 external hypervisors and INE is having their own 4 localhost hypervisors in that lab. It would be nice to have an import tool where the entire topology will be converted with my own hypervisors. Where there are problems about interfaces I will be announced, maybe their topology is using 7200 and I'm using 3725 for example. But in most cased, the import is possible.

Also, would be great to have am upload function somewhere, and when I like my topology, I can save it to my personal account on GNS3 website. Maybe a public galery is possible, where we can see the png file of the topology and we can download the .net file and import it to our gns (from other users uploads), with our settings about hypervisors.

Thanks.
