Gents,

I hope that somebody can help me. After passing 2 CCIE labs a couple of years ago for R&S and SP i'm starting up to begin the security track.

I did a clean install of Ubuntu 9.10 and GNS3 v0.7RC1. I also compiled and patched Qemu as desribed under the following post:

http://blog.gns3.net/2009/10/olive-juniper/2/

I used the Cisco image unpacker to prepare the ASA802 image. After that I followed the post from Jeremy (http://blog.gns3.net/2009/12/how-to-emu ... /#more-141) to configure GNS3 for the ASA.

I was able to do most of the steps Jeremy described:

Using ASA with GNS3

To be completed:

In Preferences -> Qemu -> Qemuwrapper section:

Set the path to Qemuwrapper (can be found in the GNS3 package) ------> done

Set the working directory (e.g. /tmp). --------> done

Set the path to your patched Qemu in “Path to Qemu” -----> where is this program installed on Ubuntu I'm unable to find it anywhere does anybode now where it is located or installed on Ubuntu 9.10 after compiling and patching Qemu?????

In ASA section:

Set the paths to your initrd and kernel. ------> done

Hope somebody can help me out.

Hi,

You may want to use this command in a terminal window,

Code:
[[email protected] ~]#which qemu

the result show the exact path that you need to put on your Gns3's config, I use Fedora, and the path for me is:

Code:
/usr/local/bin/qemu

must be no different than your distro

HTH

for some reason I can find qemu in a search outside of GNS3 but when I try browsing in the same directory using gns3 its not there !
