Jeremy, can you please take a look at this.
I think there I found a "bug" with how the IPS is emulated.
I first got IPS up and running with qemu (not using GNS3) and this was ok.
I then tried to use GNS (qemuwrapper) but then I couldn't get the interfaces up and running.
I investigated this further and I saw in the code that you explicit set the number of interfaces to 6.
I did a modification of qemuwrapper and changed the number to 3 and compiled it and then tried to run it and I got the IPS up and running.
Can you please check that I'm right and maybe make the number of interfaces to a number you can choose, or make it 3 for the IPS or something.

I though putting 6 interfaces in Qemu would have no effects on IPS, I'll check that and yes providing an option to choose the number of interfaces would be useful ...

Cheers,

Thadoff, Jeremmy,

When I configure 2 interfaces for inline mode in IPS my IPS-qemu hangs up.

Any suggestion?

IPS is very unstable on both linux/windows, it is impossible to do even most primitive testing on it.

I recomend to stop introducing new features in next versions of GNS and focus on current bugs.
