Thanks for the quick reply.

As you already saw from my .net file, I can run it with just 256 M. However, I'll make it 512 and see if it'll run. (My total RAM is 2 G!)

Regards,

#############

Still, no joy.
I increased RAM to 512/1024, npe = npe-g2, slot0 = *IO-FE, slot1 = PA-GE (if I select either of the remaining two on slot0, the configure window will not close and return to the main window regardless of how many times you click apply or ok)
Still, the router is running wildly as though I were running an unpacked bin file.

Regards,

Sadly, this new feature is not working, Jeremy. Everything is configured correctly but when you console to the router, it will run madly as though in a loop, which is exactly as when you are running the IOS unpacked.

Sparse memory function must be disabled. If not you can see plenty "Unexpected exception to CPU" messages.

Hi,
someone should test properly all the type of connection between two 7206. Not time to make more test now but it looks like that interfaces on PA-GE and PA-FE-TX are up/up but ping doesn't work (can't get MAC of neighbour's interface). Tested very briefly on latest 150-1M2 IOS.

Cheers,

According to my testing there is a problem with PA-2FE-TX and PA-GE post adapter.

The second issue I noticed was that after closing and reopening project c7200-IO-FE in slot0 was changed to C7200-IO-2FE. Also ping from R1 Fa 0/0 to R2 Fa0/0 wasn't successful.

Cheers,

I've fixed this issue in the dev version.

Thanks for those tests.

Hi,
I can choose from menu C7200-IO-2FE or C7200-IO-GE-E slot0 for NPE-400. It's OK.
When I choose C7200-IO-2FE or C7200-IO-GE-E slot0 for NPE-G2 in slot0 I receive " :KeyError: 16". See the attachment, please.

According to document below I/O controller C7200-IO-2FE and C7200-IO-GE-E should be supported with NPE-G2 (Not sure with C7200-IO-FE)

Could it be corrected?

Thanks,

Hi,

For sure there is a bug here :( I will fix this.

Work around:

When you configure your router for the first time, select the NPE & IO card at the same moment (do not select NPE, then apply and change the IO card) and it should work.

Cheers,

Hi,
thanks for temporary workaround ;-)
Another issue: when I choose C7200-2FE-TX and then choose NPE-G2 it says that slot0 is already occupied. If I point at Router with cursor I see C7200-IO-GE-E is in slot0. Exploring Router with Right Click -> Configure shows me that C7200-2FE-TX is in the slot0.

I did the second ping test. It seems that we cannot use Gigabit interfaces and PA-2FE-TX doesn't work too. I haven't tested C7200-2FE-TX yet. I don't know how to test PA-A1 and PA-POS-OC3 port adapters.

I suggest to show PA and I/O which don't work with grey colour and be available to choose only if user is sure that it doesn't work ;-)

Cheers,

I made some improvements and fixed a problem with NPE settings. Once you have selected a IO card for your c7200, you cannot change it.

I added a warning message if the user select PA-2FE-TX or PA-GE modules.

Let me know if you find another issue.

Thanks,

Hi,
1.
C7200-2FE-TX in slot0 shows that Fa0/0 is always empty even if it's connected to another router. Fa 0/1 is not listed in show device router

2. GNS3 show port Gi0/0, Fa0/0, Fa0/1, Fa0/2 available for link adding even if only C7200-2FE-TX is in slot0.

For this reason I cannot make ping test -> not sure if the routers are really connected.

Cheers,
