Hi,

Apparently in Dynagen when using NPE-G2, it changes the number of interfaces available for every IO cards.

C7200-IO-FE = 1 Fast Ethernet + 3 Gibabit Ethernet
C7200-IO-2FE = 1 Gibabit Ethernet + 3 Fast Ethernet
C7200-IO-GE-E = 1 Gibabit Ethernet + 3 Fast Ethernet

I don't really know if this is correct. I think this doesn't match what I'll find when I check in the IOS console.

With NPE-G2 + C7200-IO-2FE, if you connect the Gigabit Ethernet interfaces then Fa0/0 gets connected in Dynagen/GNS3 (check with show device R1).

Anyway, I think there is definitively something to fix here.

yes it is a mess ;-)
The question is if you can clean it or it requires change of Dynagen part.

I guess it should be:

C7200-IO-FE = 1 Fast Ethernet + 3 Gibabit Ethernet - it is OK
C7200-IO-2FE = 3 Gibabit Ethernet + 2 Fast Ethernet
C7200-IO-GE-E = 1 Gibabit Ethernet + 3 Gigabit Ethernet + 1 Ethernet


Cards:






3 Gibabit Ethernet should be integrated on NPE-G2 and the don't work.

Hi,
I tested dev version of GNS3 and I think that ports in IOS match Dynagen output now.
Ping between two C7200-IO-2FE module doesn't work on both ports.

According to my tests these should be working:

C7200-IO-FE
PA-FE-TX
PA-4T+
PA-8T
PA-4E
PA-8E

I haven't tested PA-A1, PA-POS-OC3.

I think users should be known it or we will read lots of question about lost connectivity ;-)

Hi,
all the PA and I/O I've tested worked with NPE-400.


1. Please, remove the warning messages for PA-GE, PA-2FE-TX for NPE-400.

2. Also add warning message for C7200-2FE and C7200-IO-GE-E for NPE-G2.

Optionally - there are so many warning messages when I add "non-working" PA to slots. For example we have 4 x 7200p routers each with PA-GE in slot 1,2,3. When the routers are configured together we have 4 x warning messages "Using NPE-G2: ......" when NPE-G2 is selected, 12 x warning messages for PA-GE and 4 x "Using NPE-G2: ..." messages.

forgive my question but isn't it much better to show only one window with warning (very first time user choose NPE-G2) a and the list of PA and IO that they don't work in this window?
