Hi folks ,

Today i managed to use SecureCRT6.5 as a default-tabbed console with GNS3 7.1 and i though of sharing my approach
Steps are as follows:

1. install both GNS3 and SECURECRT
2. in GNS3 , go to :
EDIT> PREFRENCES> TERMINAL SETTINGS
put this line :
start C:\progra~1\vandyk~1\SecureCRT\SecureCRT.EXE /script C:\progra~1\gns3\securecrt.vbs /arg %d /T /telnet %h %p
check "launch this command using the default system shell"
3. copy "securecrt.vbs" file to "C:\Program Files\GNS3" *ATTACHED , just rename file from securecrt.rar to securecrt.vbs*
4. go to windows dir:
C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/
open "HOST" file and add the line
127.0.0.1 localhost
save it
Notes:
====
in step 2 , the line which is applied by default from GNS3 wont work (code needs correction)
step 4 is needed because by default GNS will resolve the localhost to IPV6 ::1 in windows 7 which wont work, but after applying step 4 the issue gets resolved

securecrt.vbs is included in the last all-in-one version of GNS3. Is this the same as the one you provide?



You don't have to edit this file, you can change IP/host binding to 127.0.0.1 in Preferences -> Dynamips -> Hypervisor Manager.

Just FYI. I just changed 'Terminal Command' part.
Default one in GNS3 is incorrect.

it depends:

if U use LOCAL hypervisors, or if U use REMOTE hypervisors.

start C:\progra~1\vandyk~1\SecureCRT\SecureCRT.EXE /script C:\progra~1\gns3\securecrt.vbs /arg %d /T /telnet %h %p

this is working for remote hypervisors but is not working for local hypervisors.

if I use local hypervisors, I have to remove %h and change with 127.0.0.1 (even if I use ip/host binding to 127.0.0.1)

the original line from GNS3 was indeed different, there were some space in a place where should not be.
