Post subject: Question onGNS3 Lab & Exercise:CCNA - CCNP ROUTE - EIGRP Lab

Hi everyone,

First of all please accept my apologize if my post is violate the rule of this "Sample lab topologies" section. But this is a GNS3 lab section so I think it is normal if I post question about GNS3 lab here.

I've posted my question on shadikhov forum but still no reply. So I decided to post it here, in GNS3 forum, with the hope that some of you can help me.
Below is my question on that forum:
"

Hello everyone,

Here is the link for this lab: http://www.gns3-labs.com/2010/03/18/gns ... eigrp-lab/

Before apply offset-list step (step 6, fourth star), I wonder why Wan2 does not advertise its frame relay route to Core1 and Core2 but only advertise the better route (through Wan1)?

Note: My attached image here

More information:

In Core router (C1, C2), when i type "show ip eigrp topology all-links", I see that these routers only have ONE LINK to the LANs connected to router B1, B2, B3: the link through router W1, and I don't see the link through router W2. It means both router C1, C2 don't know about the route through W2. And I think it is because W2 does not advertise its frame relay route to C1, C2. But I don't know why W2 do that.

In the exercise: "Because of the diffrentent CIR between Branch / Wan ( 128kbps and 64kbp) some "bad" things happened on Wan2. Wan2 has a better route to Branches going through Wan1 than using its own PVC links. So Wan2 doesn't advertise any route to branches through frame-relay anymore. Instead Wan2 advertise routes to Branches passing through Wan1 !!!"
One of the solution to force Wan2 to advertise its frame relay routes is "make Wan1 report routes with Metric just a little bit smaller than the one reported by Wan2 so that Core1/2 will put them all in their topology table".

Do we have a rule for this situation?

Please help me.
Thanks a lot.

That's it.
I also attach .net and config files here, in case you need it.

Best regards,
DreadLord

Hey,

Here is the imagine for WAN2 and Core1.

As you can see from WAN2, it learn the subnets 10.1.1/2/3.0 from Core1 or Fast0/0, which means WAN2 and Core1 does exchange the topology database. Of course, because they are neighbors. And because of spilit horizon, Core1 will not learn the subnets from WAN2.

Hope this will help. Best wishes.
