Hi jaheshkhan,
i have seen you post about increasing the memory size of the flash for installing the CME.
Now i understand that you want to install the CME for ccna voice lab.
Here how i was able to do the same.
there few question you need to ask your self.
Q1. Which router iso are you using to emulate the voice lab?
Q2 Which CME version you are trying to install on the Router (GNS3 Vitrual)?
Q3. What is the size of cme file you are trying to upload.
Q4. What are the Phone models you are using for the labs?
The answers which i have had for my self is this.
Q1. Which router iso are you using to emulate the voice lab?
A1. I have been using the router 3725 router image.
Because of
a) It comes with two disks
b) Each disk is of 16 MB - it can be rasied to 99 MB max(but i THINK there is BUG when you are trying increase the flash). However you can increase it to 99 MB itself also.
to do so go to Router Configuration Dailog box > Memories and Disks > PCMCIA Disk0. Make that to 99 MB.
Q2 Which CME version you are trying to install on the Router (GNS3 Vitrual)?
A2. I am using CME 4.3.0.0 Version for my voice lab.
Q3. What is the size of cme file you are trying to upload.
A3. CME Full 4.3.0.0 Version is of 68 MB file. Too large for the flash.
Q4. What are the Phone models you are using for the labs?
A4. 7961(IP Blue) 7970-7971(Cisco IP Communicator).
Now since you i have answered all the questions. Here is how implemented the CME.
1. Down 7zip (zip tool for Tar). Install on the machine.
2. Open the CME-full-4.3.0.0.tar file.
3. remove all the Firmware of the phones expcet. 7941, 7961, 7970 and 7971. to decrease the files size to less than 16 MB.
4. run the following commands.
router# copy run flash: (will ask you to earase the flash. pls do that.)
router# format flash: (format the to dos verison)
router# archive tar /xtract
tftp://<TFTP Server IP>/cme-full-4.3.0.0.tar flash: (to TFTP the CME
on the flash.)
Hope this Helps
