 Post subject: "Failed to start dynamips on port 7200" on Window XP

Hi,

I have installed "GNS3-0.7.2-win32-all-in-one" in my pc(Win XP). it installed successfully. But when click on "Test" button from Edit->Preference->Dynamips, it show message " Failed to start Dynamips".

When I drag router to work aread, it shows error message "can't connect to device on port 7200, device refused." error no. : "10061"

Can anybody help us to solve this issue?

Can anybody tell me what exactly solution to this??

1. Check your Dynampis setting is correct [Follow attached Screen Shoot].
2. Run PORT scanner and be sure that, UDP Port# 7200 is NOT in used by other application.

I have no problem in Window Xp but , I have newly installed Window 8, and i have same error, and i am not able to Run any Router In GNS 3, at last i tried the the following & Its working great,

I installed new WinPcap_4_1_2 and i did no found the ERROR again


1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.

2. Locate and then right-click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

3. Point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

4. Type EnableLinkedConnections, and then press Enter.

5. Right-click EnableLinkedConnections, and then click Modify.

6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.


7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
