I try to following the document for the switch lap, however when I try to sh interface there is no switch port interface on 3600 is it the IOS problem , which IOS is suitable for 3600 can have switch feature.

Try using a 3725 router and an NM-16ESW module. Also, be sure to use manual connections so you don't connect to the wrong FastEthernet interfaces.

Use 3640 and go to configuration on slot zero put NM-16SW which will make your router complete work as a switch but some commands will not work if your doing for CCNP practice but 98% will work fine for you if your doing for CCNA practice. vlan you create under privilege command vlan database. More you will find your self when practice.

Try to get c3640-ik9o3s-mz.124-18.bin most of the switch commands will work on it.
