Post subject: GNS, OSPF and subinterfaces

Hi guys, I was after a bit of help.

I'm trying to create the test lab for the new CCNP TSHOOT exam, which involves OSPF running on subinterfaces on 4 routers.

Basically, the subinterfaces aren't functioning like I'm used to. I had to assign an ip address to the physical serial interface to allow pinging between the subinterfaces, not just bring the interface up without an address like I'm used to.

Now I can't get OSPF to see a neighbour relationship on the subinterfaces either. Has anyone had any similar problems?

Thanks.

How are your subinterfaces configured? Did you broadcast the OSPF on the subinterfaces for both ends?

Hi, yeah, I configured OSPF at both ends. It worked fine when I applied the same config to the physical serial interfaces instead of the subinterfaces.

Very odd!
