I have installed GNS3 latest version.
I have got Qemu configured correctly and it boots up well.
Using Patched up Qemu 0.12.5 patched.
I am getting the command shell as well.
I have configured the Qemu linux host as per this guide

https://docs.google.com/View?id=dfzhd6z ... _host_2975

I have configured Router as well
Same topology , both are in the same subnet , same subnet mask.
but still I am unable to ping each other.

I tried doing with 2 Qemu host.Still I am not able to ping each other.

I used microcore 2.10 and Microcore 2.11.5
Still no success.
Please help me.

Hi,
are you able to run two Microcore at the same time? I am asking because there is a bug presented only on Win OS which prevents you to run more than one Qemu instance at the same time. It was noticed with Qemu 0.11.0 version.
The first Qemu instance runs OK but when you run the second one it looks like Qemu instance is started but it isn't. No Qemu popup window appears.

I don't have information that this bug was solved by GNS3 team. But if you can see both pop Qemu window it looks that bug is not presented there and problem gone with 0.112.5 Qemu version.
What version Qemu do you use?

It is also useful to post eth configuration. Is it the interface up?

Cheers,

I run two instance of Qemu this way:
one Microcore image will be placed in one folder and the other (copy of the same) will be placed in another folder.
I then create two instance in the Qemu host tab.
I start the first Qemu host with first instance and the second Qemu with second instance.
This way I can start two instance of Qemu.

Regarding the interface configuration -
In router : added IP address , subnet mask.
Made the interface up.

In Qemu also the same

In Short I exactly followed the procedures in this Guide

https://docs.google.com/View?id=dfzhd6z ... _host_2975

Let me know if you still need the interface configuration
Please help me to solve this problem.

Hi,
just for you:
I tested connectivity between two Microcores 2.10 (eth0 interfaces) started with Qemu 0.11.0 on Win 7. Ping was OK.
I tested connectivity between two Microcores 2.10 (eth0 interfaces) started with Qemu 0.12.5 on Win 7. Ping was OK.

Post network settings of your Qemu instances, please. Also the output from Qemuwrapper could be helpful (start qemuwrapper from cmd, then start GNS3).

Cheers,

Did you patch Qemu?

I made a short video how I configured GNS3 to run 2 qemu instances - Linux Microcore on Windows 7. I didn't use Kqemu or Kvm so my CPU load is high and emulation really slow but at the end you see successful ping between Microcores.
As you see in video I used Qemu 0.12.5 patched binary.

Have the same problem, Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit. Tried using both a DSL image with gui, and a linux microcore. Tried routers from 1700 to 3600. I think the problem is with making dynamips and qemu talk to each other... are there any settings i should check?

I think you must have directly connected Qemu and Router
Try placing a switch ethernet in between them and in the same vlan.
It must work
