I also have a "working" image of ASA 8.05, so in a short time I'll prepare it (+post) and probably that one will solve those issues :))

That sound is great :)

i have ubuntu 10.04 TLS and GNS 3.0.7.3. Each time I try to console the ASa, a console window opens and re-closes very quickly

Hi yesnetwork,

From what I see, seems that you forget to configure Qemu "IP/Host binding" from "localhost" to "127.0.0.1" to pass Qemu IPv6 bug (localhost=::1)
plus there are more settings to be checked, please see my attached screen-shots from the first page.

Also try to lunch Qemu without GNS3, in command line for debug...

Cheers!

hi tranzitwww

I reconfigured the ip /host binding using 127.0.0.1 but it did solve the problem. I will follow your advice to run the Qemu in CLI.

thnak you tranzitwww

Hello tranzitwww,

I configured the Qemu with CL using this as ref: ''Qemu compilation and patching on Linux'' (http://blog.gns3.net/2009/10/olive-juniper/2/)
I noticed the file Qemuwrapper.exe is not in my folder (Path to QemuWrapper) instead I have qemuwrapper.py.I tried to find it and downloaded it in the folder but I still can't run the ASA. The console window opens and closes immediately.

any idea ?

thank you

Hi ,

Two problem which i am facing is that

1) On using multimode if we use the command " mac-address auto " the contexts won't work.

2)The above issue can be solved by using " no mac-address auto " , now we can ping to asa context interfaces but asa won't pass
traffic
. I have created acl permitting traffic from any any and applied to interface outside still asa is not passing traffic, i have also created static routes on the devices conntected to asa .But still asa is not passing traffic .

Is their any way to solve this issue i am using gns3 0.7.4 in windows 7.

Thanks,
sunil
