 Post subject: Warning: Could not connect to dynamips server 127.0.0.1:7200

While loading a downloaded gns3 lab I got the above message.
Loading some other examples work fine.
What could be the problem?

I had the same problem too. Dynamips crashes for some reason and needs to be restarted. You can go to Edit, Preferences, Dynamips and click on Test button, which also clears the topology.

after restarting Dynamips, when you try to re-open the same topology and get the same error, it means there is something wrong with the topology file.

what you can do is to open the .NET file with notepad or vi (if linux) and examine the lines to find what's wrong.

check;
1. image file locations, make sure you have the same locations, same files. if not, replace them with yours. don't change your own image locations.
2. router/switch etc port connections, port names, slot names etc. try to fix if they're wrong. in the worst case, delete all port entries, save the .NET file, reopen. you will loose the links but keep the configurations.
3. cfg file locations, paths, correct them if wrong.
4. be careful with clouds, check them carefully.
