I try to generate debug information on Cisco IOS on Unix but I couldn't. Every piece of information on the net says that I must use the option -d but It didn't work for me.
When I try to connect via telnet the simulation refuse the connection with the following output:

UNIX ERR:send(usage):Interrupted system call
UNIX ERR:tcgetattr:Invalid argument
UNIX ERR:fs_open:No such file or directory

And the following text is display it on the telnet connection to the IOU router:

EMT_GETVAR(PRST_VBL_DEBUG) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(PRST_IFS_PRFX) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(BOOT) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(CONFIG_FILE) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(BOOTLDR) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(RSHELF) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(DSHELF) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(DSHELFINFO) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(RESET_COUNTER) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(CHRG_LOCRECSN) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(CHRG_ID) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(SLOTCACHE) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(DIAG) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(PV) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(SV) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(CV) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(IS) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(PRST_VBL_SHOW) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(PRST_VBL_NUKE) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(BSI) returns -1
EMT_SETVAR(BSI=0)
EMT_GETVAR(IDBMAN_VS_DEBUG) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(DEBUG_IP_ADDRESS) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(DEBUG_IP_ADDRESS_SUBNET) returns -1
EMT_GETVAR(DEBUG_IP_ADDRESS_MTRIE) returns -1Connection closed by foreign host.

Does anyone know how to enable the debug option on IOU?

None of the downloads I found unpacked correctly. Anyone have any luck? Or more specifics on where you got it...

Cisco IOU Sux, and it Sux Big Time!!!!
Further more, besides Sucking, you actually have to pay for it!!!!

I prefer 100 times to have the buggy GNS3 and just practice L2 on Packet Tracer.

check it out: https://learningnetworkstore.cisco.com/ ... _CLN_STORE
