Hi,

I'm trynig to make my two ESXi virtual machines on two different subnets (192.168.102.1, 192.168.202.1) to be inter-route by a Cisco 3640 running on GNS3 (running on a Linux UBUNTU machine).

I tried exactly what is suggested by the posts below.

But, unfortunately ; it seems the GNS3 3640 cannot route "ping packets" between the two different subnets (Vswitches).

I already made work very complex three-layered L3-routing topology connected to VPCS : http://sourceforge.net/projects/gns-3/f ... p/download. But, this simple sample lab cannot work with VMs.

Did someone already make ESX/ESXi inter-subnet or inter-vlan routing work in GNS3 ?

"ping packets" are ICMP packets.. be sure your machines firewalls allow ICMPs

Thanks for your hint ! Firewall is disabled on all my VMs since the begining of this lab.

What I suspect is :

1- The promisc option is (may be) not configured correctly on ESX side (on VSwitches and port groups).
2- The two subnets are on separate Vswitches. May be their port groups have to be attached to the same Vswitch to make the L3 routing happen ?

I'll continue troubleshooting !
