Hi all!

I've tried to find the solution for this on google, but I did'nt find anything that help me.

I can't use the cloud, when I try to connect the cloud to any router, I get this error:

206-unable to create generic ethernet NIO

so, I found some people (on google) who had the same issue, and everyone said something about the permissions. Then, I realize I can't run GNS3 as a root, because if a do that, I get:

Code:
# /usr/bin/gns3
No protocol specified
gns3: cannot connect to X server :0

So, I wonder...

- "unable to create gene.. bla bla..." is it for the permissions?
- Do I have tu run GNS3 as a root?
- Why I can't run it?

EDIT: I'm using Debian.

Thanks all!!!

sadzas,

I'm having the same problem. If you run GNS3 as root you won't have that problem anymore.

My issue is that if I run GNS3 0.8.1 as root it is unable to find my Virtualbox hosts!

Hope this helps.

Hi!
The command "kdesu" can let you run gns3 as root.If you are using GTK, you can try "gksu".
