 Post subject: lost communication with dynamips

Hello,

i have GNS3 version 0.7.4 on windows 7 professional after working on it for a time the putty connection disappear or cannot open instead i have the following error on the console screen

" lost communication with dynamips server 127.0.0.1
It may have crashed. Check the dynamips server output "


i have tried to test and verify the path of dynamips and the putty but the problem does not change

any help

Hi Mohamed,

I used to have so much trouble with this kind of problem that I gave up trying to run GNS3 under windows and created a Virtual Ubuntu Machine to run GNS3 - you can have a copy if you like, it is at http://rednectar.net/gns3-workbench/

Now having said that, I can also say that your problem is likely to be something to do with getting the right idle-pc value, or the right memory allocation. You could read this article about getting the right idle-pc value, and you can experiment with getting the right memory allocation for your router under Edit->IOS images and hypervisors
