Post subject: Reboot required for olive configuration to take effect
PostPosted: Tue Jul 26, 2011 5:09 pm
I'm seeing strange behavior with my olive. I've encountered the problem using qemu and VMware Workstation 7.1. If I assign IP/IPv6/ISO addresses to a logical (lo0) or physical interface (em0) and commit the changes, the changes don't show up in "show interfaces terse" until I reboot the olive.

I am presenting an e1000 card to the guest OS. The virtual em0 interfaces works fine following a reboot. My host is running Ubuntu 11.04 server. I'm using JunOS 8.3R2.8. I'm using I don't think the issue is related to the physical ethernet card on the host server because the problem occurs whether I use a bridged or internal network set-up.

Any idea what is causing this? Has anyone else encountered the behavior?

Jeff
