Hi peeps. I have just installed the last version of GNS3.
It is working correctly, but then i found out that, when i put a cloud within the topology, the list is empty (on the previous version i was able to see the nics )

this is what i did from prompt (im using windows 7 x86):

Microsoft Windows [Versione 6.1.7601]

C:\Users\Giuseppe>cd C:\Program Files\GNS3

C:\Program Files\GNS3>dynamips.exe -e

Build date: Mar 30 2011 12:18:31

Local UUID: 0ef3546f-19a8-471f-880e-90da0ad6f2e2

Network device list:

rpcap://\Device\NPF_{6CE863F2-D22F-4C5E-B705-EA2FE9F54CA0} : Network adapter
'VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter' on local host
rpcap://\Device\NPF_{C9A40B70-8505-493B-A84C-B0B880803461} : Network adapter
'VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter' on local host
rpcap://\Device\NPF_{17C36975-16EE-4214-9C7A-7239741BCDCF} : Network adapter

'Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
' on local host

C:\Program Files\GNS3>

this is what i got after clicked on Network device list (inside gns3 folder):

Network adapters on this machine:

NIO_gen_eth:\Device\NPF_{6CE863F2-D22F-4C5E-B705-EA2FE9F54CA0}
Name : VMware Network Adapter VMnet1
Desciption: VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter

NIO_gen_eth:\Device\NPF_{C9A40B70-8505-493B-A84C-B0B880803461}
Name : VMware Network Adapter VMnet8

Name : Connessione alla rete locale (LAN)
Desciption: Realtek RTL8139"

Use as follows:
F0/0 = NIO_gen_eth:\Device\NPF_{...}

Premere un tasto per continuare . . .

I hope somebody can suggest a solution, i will appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

This issue should be fixed in the next release of GNS3. There is problems with non-English characters.

Can you try to switch GNS3 to English to see if it works?

Hi,

I made a program to test if my fixes work on your OS. GNS3 has to be installed in "C:\Program Files\GNS3" otherwise the test will fail.

You can extract the attached archive anywhere you want, open cmd.exe, execute rpcap_test.exe and post the output here.

Example:

Code:
C:\GNS3 Windows\RPCAP>rpcap_test.exe
RPCAP => \Device\NPF_{FDA4FA0D-2D91-45AC-9C47-225FA9E7F61F}
Name => VirtualBox Host-Only Network
Model => Network adapter 'Sun (Microsoft's Packet Scheduler) '

RPCAP => \Device\NPF_{335F74F0-59DE-43B0-93AA-A5E43E34F843}
Name => Local Area Connection
Model => Network adapter 'Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Desktop Adapter (Microsoft's Packet Scheduler) '

Thanks for your help.

Any idea,

Thanks for the help

Hi,

This is my fault, the program is 64-bit compiled. Here is a 32-bit version which should work on your OS.

Excellent, so the next release of GNS3 should work for you.
