Nice topology, needs a bit of work.

For those who are struggling on CPU usage, you can use this software:

http://mion.faireal.net/BES/

Download it and limit dynamips executable. When the topology has more than 4 routers, you will notice that 2 or more dynamips will be runnig, you can limit them as well. The problem is that this software can only limit up to 3 processes, but for most topologies, it's really sufficient.

Good luck with your labs.

Do you have BES for Win7 or Vista?

Thanks,

I just had a simple question.
Why so many loopback interfaces on each router?
What purpose does multiple loopbacks on the same router serve?

Thanks
tries.

Hi Tries
Loopback are created to simulate localnetworks soo you can practice summarization.
loopbacks are also importent for the ospf process cause they set the router id for the the ospf process, though you should usually use the router-id to have more control of the router-id and make it more stable.

And i got one question, i have a very complex topology with T2-T1 interfaces and much more .. and still my GNS only opens one dynampis process, which is strange , i remmeber i the past it would have open 3 process, since everything is working im not trying to get too much into this

for this guy who published this program to deal with the cpu usage, no need to go that far for 3rd party programs , you can just lower the process priority in task manager( or use a much cooler tool from microsoft called process explorer to do it), i havnt tested your tool but i guess it limits the cpu cycles allocated to the process, which might get the server to stop responding, in that case i guess lowering the priority is better.

Hello friends,

I created this OSPF topology to put in one page altogether about it, and it worked well for me.

Hope you can enjoy too

your comments are appreciated.
