If using local hypervisor(s) gns3 automatically load the saved configs when you reload project

If using external hypervisor(s) gns3 load the project but not the configs.
It seems that GNS3 try to find and load configs from a wrong dir - like if it forget the path to starting dir (where the topology file is)
I get an error message: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: u'configs\\R1.cfg'

Workaround: You use the import function in the file menu and then the configs is loaded correctly

hope this will be solved in a future version

---- description of my test setup ----
-make a external hypervisor using IP or hostname (not 127.0.0.1)
-start one router R1 and make some configuration (ie. enable secret class)
-wr or copy run start
-save in gns3 and notice that the config is saved in \configs\R1.cfg
-close gns3 or reload project
-right click router -> startup-config or start router and sh running-config
-no config is loaded
-file->import/export -> import dir -> project\configs
-then gns3 is importing all configs

Hi,

I tested it and found no issues. Maybe I missed something ... Can you try with this test version -> topic4942.html and tell me if it works?

Also, this can only work for local hypervisors (not remote). Is this what you tried to do?

Cheers,

Hi
Sorry that I didn't reply at once - I didn't notice the reply - my fault

The setup is a workstation with gns3 running -> pointing to one or more external hypervisors running on powerful server(s).
My students us this setup in some of their projects.

I just tested the setup with the new 8.3.1 version of GNS3 and the same error :(

The project does save in topology file
The configs does save in ..\configs dir in i.e. R1.cfg and R2.cfg
But when opening the project from a new start of GNS3 the configs is not imported.
check with - right mouse click on router - Startup-config - I get an error message: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: u'configs\\R1.cfg'

Then I click file and choose import/export and import the configs - vupti - now the configs are loaded.

Hope you are able to see the same errors
