I built a rather large topology and after a while the console sessions started giving me the error I put in the subject line. Has anyone ran across this before?

I am also getting the same error, it is becoming frustrating now.

I have unpacked my IOS images in case it was that, changed the images, used tera term instead of Putty, but the same thing keeps on happening.

I have seen this message on occasion, and it normally seemed to be caused by either the router or dynamips crashing.

I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION!!!

Try using the c2691 routers rather than the c2600 routers. "Maybe" they do work, but I know that there is some kind of issue with the IOS image that causes this problem, I don't have time to be testing ALL images, I tried about 5 and gave up.

I am currently using the c2691 routers with an IOS image I found on the net c2691-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T6.bin, this is working a treat. I can leave my PC running all day and night and when I come back to it, it is still running fine with no errors or crashes.

GNS3 is a very important part of my studies and being able to see all console sessions at once is invaluable (to me). I hope this works for you and you are able to use all the commands needed. I did try the c3600 routers, but you can not create a serial link for some reason???

Thanks
