Hi all,

Everytime you create the crypto key using the "crypto key generate rsa modulus 1024" command,
even after you save the config, when you stop and close and open the topology again, the crypto key
is not there anymore.

For example, you configure a IPsec tunnel, you need to create the crypto key again each time you
turn on the topology just to bring the tunnel up each time..

Anyone, who knows a workaround with this problem?

Thanks,
Mango

Hi Grossmj,

I dont think if I understand your question. But if you ask me where the crypto key is saved? I dont know also. All I do
is generate the crypto key. Then if you command "show crypto key mypubkey rsa", you can see it. Then after that , I save "write mem".
and also save the topology and export the configs. And stop the GNS and close the program.

When I open again, and start the routers, and use the "show crypto key mypubkey rsa", the crypto key is no longer there!
This in result causes the tunnels to fail, unless you create a new crypto key. But this you have to do each time you
open and close the GNS program.

Does that answer your question? Pls feel free to ask more or elaborate.

Regards,
Mango

Hi,

when you create a project, check option - save nvram and flash...it should help.

Hi all,

I think i found a workaround.

you need to edit the topology file and deleting all the lines containing "conf=...."

and then after you generate the crypto key, you just need to save config "write mem"

when you close, do not save the topology.

When i restarted gns and open again the router, the crypto key is still there.

cheers.

Hello,

Or you can save the topology, but everytime you open the topology again, you have to first edit and delete the "conf="
lines in the config file.

Well it appears keys are saved in nvram:private-config. I tried to choose another location without success :(
