If you're not running 0.8.4-RC2, you can download a pre-compiled version of Qemu for OS X. Qemu-0.11.0 and qemu-0.14.1 are both available with proper patches for Juniper and ASA.

Best of luck,

Hi...

First of all thnx to franco for the great guide. It has made it so much easier getting this all running...

The other thing is that with GNS3 0.8.4 RC2 Qemu, Cisco ASA and PIX work out of the box without the need to workaround anything.

Hope this helps.

Peace

Have you tried opening a Console to the ASA? Also, you don't need to use append or -m in your ASA configuration. GNS3 takes care of those for you.

Best of luck,
Jason

I have installed GNS3 0.8.4-RC2 on my OSX 10.8 and i created topology which includes ASA and switches and everything seems to be working well so far; so i would like to know whether i still have to configure the new release of GNS3 that way !

Thank you for your reply

Hello Franco, hello everbody,

i have two questionto to this topc:

1) Is it possible with this procedure to use the JunOS in GNS3 or is this procedure only for ASA?
2) What is maybe in addition to configure to use JunOS in GNS3?

Thanks in advance...

@Speedle

1. Yes
I'm the contributer of Qemu for GNS3-0.8.4 on OS X, and I've tested Qemu (0.11.0 and 0.14.1) pretty extensively. Both versions are included with GNS3-0.8.4-RC, and have the required patches and bios to run Juniper and ASA. I've found Juniper to run very well on OS X using Qemu (I've used Junos OS versions 10.x and 12.x).

2. You need to create a Juniper Olive.
Before you can run Juniper on any GNS3 system, you first have to create a Juniper Olive using FreeBSD. The following URL may be useful to get you started:

Best of Luck,

Yes, you can run JunOS.

1) Download the JunOS image from the following link:

http://certcollection.org/forum/topic/1 ... mwareqemu/

2) Follow these instructions to convert the vmware olive image to a bootable GNS image:

http://certcollection.org/forum/topic/1 ... -for-gns3/
