 Post subject: Can't connect to a ASA

Hi Guys,
I have built a simple ASA topology for learning purposes , but when i try access the ASA thru console in order to do basic config the command window pops up with this error message :

"Christians-iMac:~ Chris$ telnet 127.0.0.1 3001 ; exit
Trying 127.0.0.1...
telnet: connect to address 127.0.0.1: Connection refused
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host
logout"

BW i am using Mac OX 10.8.
Any help would be appreciated.

Probably means that ASA could not start. Please show us your ASA settings.

I followed the instructions in your link and now my ASA is working in GNS3 on my OSX.

Glad to help!

Dear Developers. Maybe it is reasonable to include these settings as default preset for 8.4.2 in GNS3 distribution?

Only thing I can see missing in the default preset for 8.4.2 is "-vnc none -vga none". Right?

I don't know how really -vnc none -vga none keys are affected, so I will try to install GNS3 0.8.4 RC2 this evening using default out of box settings and launch ASA. Then tell results
