When you create a new project, be sure to tic "Save nvrams and virtual drives."

I don't see any error. The BIST FAILED.... message is normal. What does it show after you've carried out the instruction

and issued a show ip interface brief command?

The key thing it to make sure you use Save project rather than Save topology - when you save your project you will get an option to [x] Save IOS startup configurations - make sure you check that. Saving the topology file simply saves the topology [Note the "save topology file' option will not be available in 0.8.4 - just ot avoid this type of confusion.

@Jason
Why should he need to
Quote:
"Save nvrams and virtual drives."
?
Usually only need to do that f you've created some switch vlans or other stuff that has to be persistent but not saved in your config file.

now that i am using gns.8.4 life is much better initialy it was rocky..

good to see the confusing save topology option removed ..
regarding saving the nvrams .. i got another question

do i need to check it if
1: i am using only routers with no ether switch module (nm0e16)
2: same as above if i am using etherchannel and usng vlans using the switch module
3: and also do i need to tick the check box . if am using other switches like ATM/ or FR ?

thanks
