Kudos to you, I did everything in less than an hour on Windows 7 64bit, everything works like a charm : )

I wonder, does this method apply to all Junos versions? What if I want to create an image with a newer Junos version? Is it just a matter of using a newer Junos image, or do I need a newer FreeBSD version as well?

For version 12.1 you might want to also read Brezular's links from topic5081.html

Also, there is a post around somewhere about installing the Virtual router - but I haven't tried it myself.

Hi, I'm getting this error message when trying to install the JUNOS software:

pkg_add: find_play_pen: can't find enough temporary space to extract the files, please set your PKG_TMPDIR environment variable to a location with at least 1982752500 bytes.

Can anyone help with this please?

Junos apears to be working for me but I cannot get routers to ping each other. The CLI interface names are em0, em1, etc. but when I show the interface labels on gns3 I get e0, e1... Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hey Guys,

I have installed GNS3 and i am trying to install Junos image on Qemu. Below are some details for you:

Operating System: MAC version 10.8.5
GNS3 version: 0.8.6
Qemu version: 0.11.0
Junos Image: jinstall-12.2R4.5-domestic-signed.tgz

I am referring the following doc for installing the Junos on Qemu --> topic6557.html

and i am getting stuck at step 3 for installing Junos. I tried launching the Free BSD with both 1 G and 2 G but after i run the pkg_add command i get a error. I have attached the screenshot for the same. Please if the experts can help will really appreciate it.

Thanks

thank you very much for that.
i finally got junos woking in qemu.

you might want to correct something in the steps.
Code:
Step 2: Patch JunOS source image.

IMPORTANT: Run the script (and all following commands) at a command prompt from your Junos directory.

Linux and OS X
sudo ./junos-auto-fix-checkpic-v1.0.sh jinstall-9.6R1.13-domestic-signed.tgz

Windows
junos-auto-fix-checkpic-v1.0.bat jinstall-9.6R1.13-domestic-signed.tgz

there is no v1.0 in the file name. it took me a while until i noticed :)
