OOOPs the check for dynamips version when you do the AutoCalc of Idle-pc doesn't recognise the latest dynamips.

Observation:
I notice that Dynamips 0.2.8-RC3 is the default dynamips for OS-X. Is that intentional?

Indeed, oops... you will have to use Dynamips 0.2.8 RC7 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gns-3/f ... community/) in order to use Autocalc.

Ok let's schedule a 0.8.4.1 release at the end of this month to fix these kind of bugs. I am sure you will find more ;)



Yes this is intentional. I noticed that recent versions of Dynamips do not work well with Generic Ethernet NIOs, I suspect a compilation issue or pcap library problem. I encourage you to test the last version on OSX to confirm this.

does this version compatible with Windows 8? Last version i ran i can ping the asa between dyn and qemu host. please advise. thanks

already running error on qemu. unable to start and files was not in folder. does anyone know what i need to do to resolve this?

Hello. I have downloaded the dynamips-0.2.8-RC7-community-x86-cygwin.zip and replaced all files in GNS3 folder, in order to work properly I should press Test Settings button in Dynamips tab, otherwise error still appears.

This is awesome. installing the new qemu fix the ping issue between qemu and dyn host. works with windows 8, finally. :)

I've got the same bug reported earlier by Chris.



The other thing, when I point Dynamips to use a RAMDisk (located in /mnt/RAMDisk), GNS3 crashes and none of the settings I applied (by pressing OK) would work. It, however, works the second or third time. I should have mentioned that the same issue I had in the RC version of 0.8.4.
