I have been happily using an Olive in GNS3 and picking up a lot in Juniper. Then I tried to create a VLAN.

Code:
root# set interfaces em1.0 family ?
Possible completions:
> ccc                  Circuit cross-connect parameters
> inet                 IPv4 parameters
> inet6                IPv6 protocol parameters
> iso                  OSI ISO protocol parameters
> mpls                 MPLS protocol parameters
> tcc                  Translational cross-connect parameters
> vpls                 Virtual private LAN service parameters

So I thought maybe it was a problem with the em interfaces and tried it on a fxp.

Code:
[edit interfaces fxp1 unit 0]
root# set family ?
Possible completions:
> ccc                  Circuit cross-connect parameters
> inet                 IPv4 parameters
> inet6                IPv6 protocol parameters
> iso                  OSI ISO protocol parameters
> mpls                 MPLS protocol parameters
> tcc                  Translational cross-connect parameters
> vpls                 Virtual private LAN service parameters

Finally to make sure I wasn't insane or stupid I tried to view vlans.

Code:
root# edit vlans
           ^
syntax error, expecting <statement> or <identifier>.

Code:
root# run show vlans
               ^
syntax error, expecting <command>.

Is there something I am missing? I found other posts on various sites where people had no trouble configuring them on the fxp interfaces, but it seems that my Olive has no ability to do ethernet switching at all. I would appreciate any guidance.

Since there are no replies I can presume this is a Juniper Olive bug and has nothing to do with GNS3? Otherwise I presume one of the devs would have chimed in by now about it. If someone has a method of making VLANs work in JUNOS/GNS3 I would appreciate a heads-up. Thanks!
